This is a standard 100GHz DWDM 4CH OADM for dual fiber solution, any specific 4 wavelengths from 1525nm to 1568nm optional. Dual fiber DWDM OADM adds and drops optical signals of same wavelengths into two fibers, while letting the rest of the wavelengths bypass the line. Customized DWDM OADM perfectly tailored to meet with specific needs. Any wavelength, any connector, any housing and any special ports can be achieved.

It drops one or several specific channels and adds the same channel back onto the network fiber in dual-sided transmission.

It drops or adds one or several specific channels from the network fiber in single-sided transmission. And the dropped/added wavelengths cannot be re-used at the same local node.



Application of 4 channel DWDM OADM

4CH OADM device is used in WDM system for multiplexing and routing 4 different channels of light into or out of a single mode fiber. It’s ideal for creating DWDM bus network by connecting two OADM devices together and work with Mux Demux.



This is a two-sided 4CH DWDM OADM device. Two of them connected can set up a DWDM bus network. 4 wavelengths can be re-used in the fiber link.



How to calculate the optical loss when DWDM OADM connects between DWDM Multiplexers?

The total optical path will be facing fiber losses:

(CH20) A to B: A 3.0dB + B 2.0dB

(CH20) C to D: C2.0dB + B 3.0dB

(CH35) E to F: E 3.0dB + 2.5dB + F 3.0dB

2.5dB is the bypass loss from OADM IN to OUT



How to calculate the attenuation loss of 4CH DWDM OADM single side with 16CH DWDM Mux Demux bus network?

(CH20) A to D: A 3.2dB + D 1.6dB

(CH24) B to E: B 3.2dB + 1.0dB + E 1.6dB

(CH28) C to F: C 3.2dB + 1.0dB + 1.0dB

Q: I want to install an OADM in the splice closure we buy from you before, can you assist or provide a solution?

A: Thanks for your question, here suggest you customize the ABS pigtailed OADM, Arkoptic splice closure can be equipped with ABS OADM, but you need to use a cable tie to fix it.


Q: What do I need to consider when customize the DWDM OADM into a ABS module?

A: Fiber diameter ( 2.0mm, 0.9mm, 3.0mm ), pigtail length ( 0.25~2m, no extra charge ), with/without connectors, and ABS size (141*115*18mm, 120*80*18mm, 100*80*10mm) need to be considered.


Q: How many channels are available for DWDM OADM?

A: Following the ITU-T G.694.1 Grid, Arkoptics DWDM OADM supports two standard channel options, including 48 channels on 100 GHz ITU grid or 96 channels on 50 GHz ITU grid. No more than 48/96 DWDM channels, any wavelength or wavelengths combination can be customized upon request. But 50 GHz OADM is more expensive than 100 GHz, low channel numbers are not suggested.


Q: What else custom services can Arkoptics provide about DWDM OADM?

A: Any wavelength, any connector, any type of housing (/1U rack/ABS module/OADM components) and special ports like 1310nm/Monitor port( 1% ratio as default, 2%, 3%, 5%, etc, available on request) can be customized. What's more, Arkoptics OADM can be customized to industrial temperature -40~85℃ to meet the requirement of outdoor applications.


Q: I’m confused on the 1310 port, If you have multiple OADM's A--B--C where only A and C have 1310 ports. Would the 1310 signal pass through B, allowing A and C to communicate on the 1310 port?
